★Stepping carefully into the dark cave, the unmistakable stench of a wild creature assaulted SimTitle0's senses. Slumped against a large stalagmite, a massive wild boar snored peacefully. A jumble of truffle bits had accumulated near its mouth.Collecting these truffles would persuade the boar to leave the cave, but it also might rouse the beast.
★Tracking through the damp cave, the sounds of grunts and sniffles caught SimTitle0's attention. ★Buy a Book
★Never one to pass up a good deal, SimFirstName0 would give the man her money and see if a book of his might be useful.
★Pass
★The salesman sounded pretty shady. SimFirstName0 wouldn't waste her money on such an obvious scam.
★What information should SimTitle0 review?
★Locations
★SimTitle0 could study the locations visited recently by the Monarch.
★Hidden Items
★She could review the list of objects secreted around TownName.
★Choosing dark, twisting passages at random, SimTitle0 finally stumbled into an ancient vault, lined with rough-hewn, stone tombs. A pale mist lit the chamber in an eerie glow, revealing everything to be covered in thick, ropey cobwebs and centuries of dust partially obscuring strange runes etched into the walls. How would SimTitle0 handle this new discovery?
★Back Out Slowly
★There are too many signs to ignore the fact that this room would be better left undisturbed.
★Plunder the Room
★What else are ancient burial grounds good for, but pillaging?
★Read the Runes
★The mysterious symbols carved into the walls might reveal the story of this chamber, once the dust has been cleared away.
★Search Tombs
★Who knows what manner of artifacts might be trapped within these ancient coffins that would provide clues about this room?
★While exploring a side passage, SimTitle0 came upon a small skeleton clutching something in its hands.
★Stumbling through the murky catacombs beneath TownName, the strong smell of earth and decay assaulted SimTitle0's nostrils, long before she discovered the source: a subterranean forest of fungus, sprouting from every surface of a large, dank cavern. Behind her the path was dark and still, while the way forward was soon lost in a fog of pungent spores and thick, spongy stalks. How would SimTitle0 proceed?
★Backtrack
★Leave the strange growth and find a different, more pleasant-smelling route through the caves.
★Gather Plants
★Take advantage of the discovery and pick some of the smaller fungus.
★While exploring a particularly deep, cold, and claustrophobia-inducing portion of the caverns, SimTitle0 observed a horrid little hominid with dead moon-like eyes and skin like a bloated tick. Me Yummies! it screeched as it scampered off on its crusty webbed feet.
★Follow the& thing
★It must have been protecting something of high value. Perhaps it was running off to hide some sort of treasure or secret item? Following its foul stench and flopping feet would be easy enough.
★Turn back now!
★To try and follow that horrid little thing down these dark, twisting and turning tunnels would be madness. People had been known to disappear down in the caverns!
★As SimTitle0 hugged a slick cave wall overlooking a deep echoing chasm, she spied a magnificent sparkling hunk of ore protruding from the rock, tantalizingly out of reach.
★Forget it.
★There was no SANE way to get up to the ore. It was very likely that SimTitle0 would fall and slip to her death. It was beautiful, but it belonged to the cave.
★Reach for it!
★There were a few rocks lying around that could be stacked, and if a person balanced just right, that beautiful ore could be snagged easily.
★I'll take it!
★It couldn't hurt to buy one of Churdle's potions, could it?
★Keep Walking
★It seemed the most rational action was to ignore that Churdle character and keep on walking.
★SimFirstName0 saw a mouse peeking out from a hole in the wall. His beady little eyes were locked on the cheese in SimFirstName0's hand. SimFirstName0 pondered her move...
★SimTitle0 spotted a mouse alone in the middle of the floor. It stared at her and blinked. SimFirstName0 pondered her move...
★Despite her best efforts, SimTitle0 did not spot any mice. This place was supposed to be infested, right? SimFirstName0 decided if she couldn't get to the mice, she'd just have to bring the mice to her.
★The beast roared madly and snapped, grabbing SimTitle0 in its horrible jaws. SimFirstName0 jabbed furiously at soft tissue in the roof of the creature's mouth until it snorted and spat her back to the ground. In seconds the beast was on SimFirstName0 again, ready to bite her in half.
★Roll Left!
★There was only one option -- roll to the left!
★Roll Right!
★There was only one option -- roll to the right!
★SimTitle0 was in dire straits. She had been forced under a thin ledge of rock by the snapping jaws of the beast. It was bearing down, ready to consume its cornered prey.
★Fight!
★A large and somewhat sharp-looking stone was lying within reach. SimFirstName0 could grab it and try to beat back the beast...
★Roll Left!
★Roll Right!
★Run for Cover
★SimTitle0 could see a deeper alcove just a few paces to the left. Perhaps if she made a run for it, she could make it into cover before the beast could react.
★Behind the secured door of the ship's hold, SimTitle0 found a small chest bearing the markings of a minor pirate gang amidst the crates of more mundane cargo.
★SimTitle0 traversed the dark stone tunnels for several minutes, before a faint scraping sound led her to a small dank chamber. On the far side of the room, a figure dressed in a filthy guard uniform squatted, harvesting pale mushrooms with a rusty knife.
★Delving deeper into the twisting passageways, SimTitle0 came across a low chamber and a crude camp lit by the embers of a dying fire. There seemed to be no one immediately about, but she could just make out the echoes of men talking, which grew louder by the moment. What would SimTitle0 do?
★Loot the Camp
★Quickly grab anything of possible value before the outlaws return.
★Hide and Wait
★Duck back into the shadows and await the arrival of the unsuspecting men.
★After the Admiral was taken captive, the question remained of what to do with his ship and remaining crew.
★Sink Them
★Scuttle the ship and leave the survivors to fend off the sharks.
★Spare Them
★Throw their weapons to the waves and let the survivors report back on the Admiral's capture.
★SimTitle0 was greeted by a group of well-dressed merchants as she approached the village."We've got your new Interrogation Chair right here," one of the merchants said, gesturing to an ornate, gilded chair with various persuasive instruments hanging off it."We had it shipped to the village and it was too heavy to carry to your castle. I'm sure you'll have no trouble with it though."
★SimTitle0 was greeted by an unruly group of pirates as she approached the village."We've got your new Interrogation Chair right here," a pirate said, gesturing to a spiked, wooden chair with various persuasive instruments hanging off it."We had it shipped to the village and it was too heavy to carry to your castle. I'm sure you'll have no trouble with it though."
★SimFirstName0 collected stones while venturing deep into the endless network of tunnels. Eventually, she climbed down a sheer drop into a dark abyss. At the bottom, SimFirstName0 reached an underground lake. She stumbled over a small chest sitting in a puddle. What should SimFirstName0 do?
★Risk opening the mysterious chest that just happened to be sitting in a puddle in the depths of the cave.
★Open it!
★Mysterious chests in dark, dangerous places seemed to hold bad things a lot of the time. Perhaps it was best just to leave this place in one piece.
★Don't open it!
★A svelte lady approached SimFirstName0, then bowed. I have heard word of your arrival, and in your honor, have prepared two gifts to help as you build your kingdom. However, I shall only give you one of them the gift you receive depends on your answer to this question: What virtue would you rather bring to TownName?
★ As I build my kingdom, I will value the safety of my people over our offensive strength. My people are my heart.
★Safety
★ The fierce strength of a kingdom is of utmost importance. A kingdom with no power is no kingdom at all.
★Power
★A bear reared up before SimTitle0, roaring menacingly, ready to attack.
★Chop It Down
★It was a Crystal Blanc tree! If the old stories were correct, they only grew in dry alkaline soils filled with Mithral and magic crystals! If SimTitle0 were to chop it down, she could claim the treasure!
★SimTitle0 was wandering through the forest when she heard some chanting and drumming in the distance. Making her way stealthily through the brush, she spied a throng of tall navy-blue elves dancing around a glowing white tree.
★Spy On Them
★It was incredible luck! The navy-blue elves were the most elusive and skittish of all elves. Witnessing one of their religious ceremonies was unheard of! If SimTitle0 hid in the bushes, she might see what would happen next! Perhaps they would even leave some artifact behind!
★Walking along, SimTitle0 looked up to see a gnarled dwarf of a man approaching from the other direction. When he got close he opened his ratty jacket to reveal some ancient books. "Books for sale" he croaked. "The rarest and most valuable in the land. You would be a fool to pass up a deal like this."
★Grab it!
★If SimTitle0 could just pounce on and capture the thing without crushing it, she would have her very own live, Dire Chinchilla! Think of the decorative and resale possibilities!
★While out handling business in the forest, SimTitle0 happened upon a lone red-eyed Chinchilla greedily stuffing its cheeks with flowers and grasses. It appeared to be an infant Dire Chinchilla, somehow separated from its horde.
★Keep Moving
★Nobody could ever catch these things alive. They either went down fighting for their lives or escaped down their dark, dirty tunnels to Watcher knows where. Or they ate your face. It was all a rather dangerous waste of time.
★SimTitle0 wandered through an unexplored swath of the wood and came across a river, deep and wide. A rickety wood bridge spanned its frothing current, reaching up to the high ledge on the far side. At the height of the far end of the bridge a dark cloaked figure appeared, halting her progress with an outstretched hand. What was a wizard to do?
★Fight the Guard
★Simple. SimTitle0 would blast the sinister character with magic to clear the way.
★Pay the Toll
★Perhaps SimTitle0 should pay the silent figure a few coins to cross the bridge.
★SimTitle0 saw a traveling merchant lying along the mountain path. He appeared to be injured in some way and in need of assistance. As SimFirstName0 approached, the merchant weakly reached towards her and mouthed the word help.
★SimTitle0 was enjoying her little forest ramble when she came across a damp, overgrown meadow bisected by a tinkling brook. This is exactly where Belladonna grows, she thought to herself.
★Dig Around
★It always took a while to find rare Belladonna, and it was messy work, but this was the perfect location to find the treacherous root. SimTitle0 could probably find a bunch!
★Keep Going
★Actually, hunting for hidden herbs was drudgery best suited to dirty peasants and hermits. SimTitle0 could always buy Belladonna in the Village anyway.
★Catch Her!
★SimTitle0 now had exactly one mission in life -- to catch the pink little pest! She would have to grab her quickly before she escaped! Live pixies were worth a small fortune!
★SimTitle0 was walking through the forest when she looked to the side and saw an injured little pink pixie, frantically buzzing in a dusty circle with a stuck wing.
★Help Her
★The poor little pixie. She just needed a little help so she could fly away. Maybe if SimTitle0 was kind the tiny creature would reward her with a little something special? If she was careful not to crush her tiny body.
★SimFirstName0 was making her way along an unknown forest path when she came upon an effervescent spring, smelling slightly of sulfur. Fanciful childhood tales of secret healing springs danced in her head.
★Take a Drink
★The tales were true! This could be one of the mysterious healing springs that appeared from time to time. SimTitle0 would take a drink to test the spring, and bottle up as much as she could!
★Don't Touch It!
★One would never drink water from the forest casually. It was usually fouled by animal excrement or worse -- dead corpses. It could even be a breeding ground for toxic Bloodmoss!
★While walking down a forest path a squirrel wearily approached, stopping at SimTitle0's feet. It tilted its head, then dashed a short distance away before turning to look at her expectantly. Such odd behavior for a squirrel, but on a hunch SimFirstName0 decided to follow it.Eventually the squirrel stopped on a hollow log. Reaching inside SimFirstName0 pulled out a small box with some oddities inside.
★SimTitle0 made her way through the forest, letting her mind wander as the beauty of the forest enveloped her. Sensing something was following her, SimFirstName0 hid by the side of the path. Sure enough, a magnificent rare unicorn soon appeared from a meadow, its white horn sparkling in the dappled light, completely unaware of SimFirstName0's presence.
★Kill It
★The Watcher had put animals in the forest for one reason: fresh meat. And unicorn meat was one of the most delicious, rare, and expensive delicacies in the entire kingdom! SimTitle0 would kill it while surprise was still on her side.
★Hold Still
★SimTitle0 knew not to move! The slightest disturbance might scare the unicorn off. As it was not everyday that one had the opportunity to see a magical creature, SimTitle0 decided to relish the moment for as long as possible.
★Taking the overgrown long way through the forest, SimTitle0 happened upon an ugly, squat little hut. The cries of children could scarcely be heard through the mist. Dark smoke billowed from the crooked chimney. Peeking through a greasy window, a witch could be seen preparing a dinner cauldron with two terrified children sitting at the table.
★Leave Her Alone
★It was none of SimTitle0's business, really. Witches needed to eat too, and in today's economy, children were probably a nutritious alternative to the usual dreary herb and barley stew. Besides, perhaps the brats had it coming...
★Rescue Them!
★The poor, innocent children needed to be rescued immediately! A varicose, stooped-over, gray-haired witch couldn't be that hard to fight off, right?
★Following the directions, SimTitle0 stumbled into a hidden forest glade containing an ancient stone kiln. SimTitle0 prepared the forge, feeding it dried kindling, and gathered the sword parts for the final joining. But what kind of blade would she make?
★A Gallant Blade
★ I shall forge a heroic blade worthy of the legendary sword master.
★A Heavenly Blade
★ I shall forge a divine sword like those wielded by angels.
★Following the directions, SimTitle0 stumbled into a hidden forest glade containing an ancient stone kiln. SimTitle0 prepared the forge, feeding it dried kindling, and gathered the sword parts for the final joining. But what kind of blade would she make?
★A Wicked Blade
★ I shall forge a terrible weapon to strike fear into all who see it!
★A Deadly Blade
★ I shall forge a weapon of never-before-seen balance and sharpness.
★You came across what appeared to be a Pirate. Why would a pirate be wandering the forest? You decided to stop and ask him what he was doing. "Well, swabby... I think I'm lost... Seriously Lost. Can you point me to the path to Effenmont?"
★Help him
★"Uh... you do know that Effenmont is across the sea right? You'll never find it in the forest. If you follow the path behind me back to town, you might be able to find a boat to take you there."
★Give bad advice
★"I could have some fun with this guy since he's obviously an idiot. I bet if I come up with really crazy directions, he'd reward me for my 'help'."
★Walking along the forest path, you discovered two peculiarly dressed young men standing next to what appeared to be an upright metal and glass coffin. Mouths agape, they seemed enthralled by the rather mundane forest when they noticed you. "Excuse us. Do you know where there are any personages of historical significance around here?"
★Direct to Castle
★"I don't know what they mean by that, but I suppose it won't hurt to try to find them some help. I'll direct them to the castle."
★Direct to Pit.
★"I don't know what these strange fools are doing here, but the constable and the executioner ought to know what to do. I'll direct them to the judgement area."
★Deep in the Forest, you discovered a man who seemed to be tending a field where nothing was growing. When you attempted to question him, he ignored your presence and proceeded to work around you. Looking at the ground, you saw that coins had been tilled into the soil. Yep, you found a simole farmer.
★Grief him!
★"These jerks are a scourge to the kingdom and they're ruining the economy. Perhaps if I give him a little grief, he'll leave."
★Report him!
★"Simole farming is highly illegal. I shall have to report this fool to the constable."
★As you patrolled the path, a well-dressed but rather foppish Tredonian stumbled out of the brush, looking very distressed. "Please help me! We were ambushed by thieves! My bodyguard fell in battle! I'll pay you, of course!"
★Team up
★"Hmm... if there are brigands about, we'll need to defend each other. I'll escort him through the forest and perhaps together we can fight off any attackers."
★Set a trap
★"We're outnumbered, so our only hope is to set a trap. If I use this noble as bait, we should be able to set up an effective ambush."
★Traveling along the forest path, you were surprised to notice the relative lack of woodland critters about. Shortly thereafter, you began to hear what scared them off: the clanging cacophony of a Tredonian trader's wares rattling in his cart.
★Buy him off
★"Hunting in the forest will be impossible with this fellow about. Tredonians are always looking to do business... Perhaps I can buy a few of his wares and encourage him to speed along."
★Lecture him
★"This fellow is making a public nuisance of himself. I shall have to insist that he be more careful when packing his wares."
★Snoring loudly, SimTitle0 rolled over in bed. Images of card tables and crystal balls were replaced with a glimmering heap of treasure. The rising scales of a sleeping dragon were visible amidst the masses of shining goblets, bejeweled crowns, and countless gold coins. Two large gems caught SimTitle0's attention...
★SimTitle0 stepped into the tent and was immediately engulfed by thick smoke and the smell of incense. At the center of the tent, a robed woman knelt before a crystal ball, muttering quietly. "Have you come for a palm reading, SimTitle0?"
★Leave it
★The dead deserved their rest. SimFirstName0 would say a blessing and leave the skeleton be.
★Search it
★Certainly the skeleton didn't still need whatever it was holding, but it could still be something of value to SimFirstName0...
